After taking over as AP CM, YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is moving ahead with his own style of decisions regarding appointments. Along with those who had helped him in the past, he also created new posts like an advisor to make them available to those who had worked for the family-run newspaper Sakshi. Jagan took yet another sensational decision on Wednesday. He has now appointed prominent lawyer Jasti Naga Bhushan, son of former Supreme Court judge Jasti Chelameswar, as the AP Additional Advocate General. Official orders for the appointment are likely to be issued.
After the general election and after Jagan sitting in the CM’s chair, Judge Jasti Chelameswar had a special meeting with Jagan with the help of a key YSRCP leader. Though it was said that this was the courtesy call, the news came that Jagan wanted Jasti to give advice and guidance on how to fight against the TDP camp. Shortly after this meeting, Jagan went to Delhi to lodge a complaint with the CJI against senior Supreme Court judge NV Ramana. Jasti Naga Bhushan was also among those who went to Delhi along with Jagan. It has been alleged that the draft letter written by Jagan to the CJI was prepared by Jasti Naga Bhushan.
Analysts say that it is now clear that appointment of Jasti Naga Bhushan as the Additional Advocate General of the AP was in lieu of the support he took from him during his Delhi visit. However, the news that Jasti Naga Bhushan will be appointed as the Advocate General for the Jagan’s government has now become a hot topic in the state.
