In a major setback for the Bharatiya Janata Party in Telangana, Ravula Sridhar Reddy a senior BJP leader has called it quits on Sunday. In this context, it may be recalled that several local leaders in Dubbaka too had switched sides to the ruling TRS. Even, Thota Kamalakar Reddy who revolted against BJP for having fielded M Raghunandan Rao instead of him joined the TRS in the presence of Telangana Finance Minister T Harish Rao. Meanwhile, Ravula Sridhar Reddy who is one of the close aides of MoS Kishan Reddy in the NDA was miffed over the saffron party’s policies in Telangana and hence decided to swear his allegiance to Kalvakuntla Chandrashekhar Rao.
Ravula had served in the BJP for nearly eleven years and his exit has left party leaders shocked, especially with the GHMC elections around the corner. He had contested from Jubilee Hills constituency in the 2018 polls and had left a corporate career to serve the public, under the leadership of Kishan Reddy. The leader who was also the BJP state spokesperson expressed his displeasure over the recent developments within the party, adding that the BJP was misleading the public by peddling lies and that they would not be able to justice to the state.
