With the Supreme Court cracking the whip on AP officials regarding the local body polls, looks like the officials have fallen in line. The IPS, IAS officials who turned a deaf ear to the meeting called earlier by the SEC, are seen in attendance listening keenly to SEC Nimmagadda Ramesh. Also, the SEC’s strict action against those officials found dillydallying in their duties was evident following the action taken against Panchayati Raj officials Dwivedi and Girija Shankar. Hence the officials were seen seated on time prior to SEC Nimmagadda’s arrival.
What a discipline?
Till date, officials in Andhra Pradesh were seen playing to the tunes of YSRCP leaders. They did not even care regarding the verdict given by the AP High Court over the issue related to the Panchayat elections. However, the matter was taken seriously following the Supreme Court’s intervention. Now, the situation is like the officials are behaving in a disciplined manner on seeing the SEC, which reminds us of students’ behaviour when they see the headmaster. Looks like the officials have made up their mind to ensure that the polls are conducted in a smooth manner.
