AP: YSRCP tensed over Seer Chinna Jeeyar Swamy’s yatra

The ruling party is worried over Seer Tridandi Chinna Jeeyar Swamy’s announcement that he would be visiting all temples that have been targeted by miscreants and vandalized, from January 17th. The visit by the spiritual leader is set to alter the political equations in the state.

Spiritual leader Seer Tridandi Chinna Jeeyar Swamy will be visiting all those temples that have been vandalised by miscreants. With the Dhanurmasam Dheeksha concluding on January 14th, the spiritual leader had announced that he would go on a yatra in the state from January 17th. The Seer strongly criticised the government for failing to curb the ongoing attacks on temples in AP, while speaking to media at the Mangalagiri town in Guntur district. The spiritual leader said that he couldn’t remain silent when the very existence of temples in the state is being threatened. He added that the government cannot remain silent and that irrespective of political affiliation, action must be taken and that the perpetrators must be punished. Seer Chinna Jeeyar Swamy went on to say that the patience of people and society must not be tested and that there is a limit to everything. The spiritual leader said that the government needs to intervene in the issue. However, in these circumstances, the spiritual leader’s visit could alter the political equations in the state.

As their key person…

Seer Tridandi Chinna Jeeyar Swamy is a well-known face in spirituality and maintains good relations with the top leaders in the BJP and also with Telangana CM KCR. At times, CM KCR personally visited the Seer’s ashram and got his blessings. It is also heard that the spiritual leader enjoys close relations with the top brass of the BJP. On the other hand, the AP Government led by CM YS Jagan does not have good relations with Chinna Jeeyar Swamy. Though it’s campaigned in the past that YSRCP leaders had met with the Seer, it is learnt that YSRCP leaders, AP CM Jagan are key persons to Swaroopanandendra Saraswati of the Visakha Sri Sharada Peetham. Even CM KCR enjoys good relations with the Sri Sharada Peetham in Vizag. Both the CMs of Telugu states had earlier received blessings from the spiritual leaders for having allocated lands for their charity services. In this context, it needs to be seen how Seer Tridandi Chinna Jeeyar Swamy’s visit would affect the political equations in the state.
