MANSAS Trust Chairperson P Sanchaita Gajapathi Raju’s ‘whims and fancies’ has led to severe criticism among the public. Padmanabham Jr College shutdown
It is heard that the Padmanabham Junior College located in Vizag district, which is run by MANSAS has been closed. According to some groups in the organisation, it has been confirmed that Bhumi Puja was held in the college premises to set up MANSAS Trust office. The teaching faculty have alleged that the college management directed the teaching and non-teaching staff to leave the establishment as they could not provide salaries. It is known that Sanchaita Gajapathi Raju had written a letter to the EO over shifting of MANSAS office from the Vizianagaram fort to Padmanabham Junior College. Recently, the EO informed regarding the same to the Commissioner and arrangements are also being made for the same.
Three decades of history
The Junior College in Padmanabham which was established in 1994, had been in operation till March 2020. Around 250 students successfully completed their Intermediate First and Second year in 2019-2020. At present only nine members of the teaching staff and three members of the non-teaching staff are working. It is learnt that only five teachers amongst the nine would be retained to teach inter and degree students studying at the Vizianagaram Fort. While the others being sent home is being severely criticised. The abrupt closure of the establishment is being protested by both the students and teachers.
