Asked for two minutes, had to wait two years: TRS’ Swamy Goud joins BJP

Senior TRS leader and Legislative Council Chairman Swamy Goud has sworn allegiance to the BJP. The leader who played a crucial role in the Telangana statehood targeted CM KCR in his first speech as a BJP leader in New Delhi.

Swamy Goud, a senior leader of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in the New Delhi in the presence of BJP President JP Nadda. Goud was flanked by BJP AP MP CM Ramesh and MLC Naraparaju Ramchander Rao were present on the occasion. However, the TRS leader the next moment having sworn allegiance to the BJP, made sensational allegations against Telangana CM and TRS supremo K Chandrashekar Rao.

“I hope KCR respects my decision. I have been trying to meet him for two years. I was not given an audience. I left TRS and joined BJP only for self-respect. The next Mayor will be from BJP,” Swamy Goud said, adding that the decision to join the BJP is like a homecoming for him and that he didn’t seek power nor position. He even criticised fellow TRS leaders and those in KCR Cabinet of landing crucial positions, instead of serving the Telangana public.

Apart from the above comments, Swamy Goud stoked a controversy saying that every couple needs to raise three children. He had hogged the limelight earlier too, during his stint in the TRS as the Legislative Council Chairman, for having made the same comments. He also heaped praises on the Telangana BJP Chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar for his courage in saying that they would bring down Darussalam AIMIM Head Quarters if the MIM dared to touch the graves of PV and NTR.
