Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s 96th Birth Anniversary: President, PM pay tributes!

As a mark of respect to the former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his 96th Birth Anniversary, President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Piyush Goyal and Nirmala Sitharaman offered their prayers at the Rashtriya Smriti Sthal. On the occasion, a book titled ‘Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Parliament: A Commemorative Volume’ will be released by Prime Minister Modi which comprises of the works and speeches made by the former PM Vajpayee.

The book release will be held in the Central Hall of Parliament as the day is also observed as Good Governance Day. Atal Bihari Vajpayee was conferred with the Padma Vibhushan (1992), Bharat Ratna (2015) and Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant Award in 1994 for Best Parliamentarian.

A Lok Sabha release on the occasion hailed the former Prime Minister as an astute statesman and world leader who made innumerable contributions to strengthen the Indian economy and for having made bold reforms in modernising infrastructure in India.
