Chanda Kochhar finally granted bail by Mumbai Court

Former ICICI Chief Executive Officer Chanda Kochhar has been granted bail by the Mumbai Court in connection with an alleged money laundering case.

On Friday, the Mumbai Court granted bail to former ICICI Bank CEO Chanda Kochhar on a Rs 5,00,000 bond and has been instructed against leaving the nation. It is known that Kochhar had to face allegations of financial fraud and corruption in sanctioning loans to Venugopal Dhoot of the Videocon Group to the tune of Rs 1,875 crores. Already, Kochhar’s husband Deepak Kochhar had been apprehended by the Mumbai Police in September 2020. Earlier, the Enforcement Directorate had filed a criminal case against Chanda Kochhar under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
