Chicken prices have risen again. The price of skinless chicken has increased to Rs 260. It was Rs 220 on March 21 and dropped to Rs 200 on March 28. But again, the price of chicken has risen. The price of a kilo skinless chicken in the retail market was Rs 230 and it was increased by an additional Rs 30 as poultry production is comparatively lower than last year. Four months ago, the skinless chicken was priced between Rs 120 and Rs 140 and the cost of mutton was Rs 700 to Rs 800 per kg. As a result, the demand for chicken increased drastically leading to an increase in the prices.
Chicken rates at an all-time high
Chicken prices soared again. The number of people consuming chicken has increased amidst a decline in poultry production. On the other hand, even mutton rates have skyrocketed. This led to an increase in chicken prices.
