Actress-turned-politician and BJP leader Kushboo Sundar attacked the Congress saying it is mentally retarded and that the leaders in the party too lacked wisdom. She went on to say that the Grand Old Party didn’t require intelligent women like her and that the Congress leaders were out of touch with reality.

Kushboo received a grand welcome at the Chennai airport after she joined BJP in the presence of JP Nadda. BJP state president L Murugan and a few other leaders welcomed her by offering flowers bouquets. From the airport, they reached directly to the BJP office. Addressing a media conference there, Kushboo fired, “When I came out of DMK, I did not make a single criticism of the party. Though I wanted to adopt the same approach, the Congress party leaders are not letting me. They have criticized me and now I am bound to speak against them.”
I woke up because I have intelligence
She said that she felt oppressed in the Congress party. She alleged that the party leaders lacked knowledge; they didn’t have intelligence to think on their own on any issue, they never let her speak and never respected her views. “I have intelligence, hence I have woken up,” said Kushboo.
Was in opposition then…
She said she had criticized the BJP in the past because she was in the opposition and hence it was her duty to question the ruling party. To comments of Congressmen that she was just an ‘actor’, Kushboo replied, “Don’t they remember that I was an actress when I was in that party? Now that I am talking against them they are suddenly recognizing me as an actress?”
