POTUS Donald Trump unable to digest the defeat in the November 3rd, 2020, Presidential Elections, created trouble for President-elect Joe Biden in every possible way. However, the American Congress on Wednesday certified the Democratic candidate Joe Biden’s 306-232 win against Trump officially, clearing the way forward and forcing Trump to admit defeat. When, the US Senate and the House of Representatives met for the joint session, in what could be termed an alleged political coup Trump finally resorted to inciting his supporters to protest at the US Capitol. The protests turned violent with five lakh Pro-Trump supporters causing chaos, opposing the Congressional vote affirming Biden’s victory. This led to clashes and the security personnel resorted to open fire to disperse the rioters, this led to the death of four persons including a woman. A tense atmosphere prevailed turning Washington DC into a battleground.
At last, Trump concedes defeat
Having no option left, Trump in a last desperate attempt tried to instigate his supporters to block the Congressional vote affirmation of Biden’s electoral college victory. Even the American Congress confirmed Biden victory thereby clearing the way for Biden’s inauguration on January 20th as the 46th President of the United States. The Congress announced that Biden garnered the magic figure of 270 votes, required to form the government. When 306 members in the electoral college vouched for Joe Biden, only 232 supported Trump. This brings to an end the six – month election process in the United States.
