Here comes a piece of good news for all motorists. The Centre has once again made changes to the guidelines that mandate FASTag as necessary for all vehicles across the country from January 1st. The central government has recently issued guidelines extending the FASTag deadline to February 15, 2021. Already 80 percent of payments are being made through FASTag. The Centre seems to have taken this decision as the workload on respective companies providing these services has increased with millions of people using FASTag at once.
With motorists making toll payments through FASTag there is no need for long queues. This saves valuable time as well as fuel. Making cashless payments through FASTag will also reduce the need for thousands of staff at toll gates. FASTag is hassle-free as it just requires a unique identification number. The toll tax will be deducted from the relevant account as soon as the vehicle enters the toll plaza as the tag affixed to the vehicle is instantly scanned.
