First Indian cricketer to debut in all three formats on same tour

T Natarajan is the first Indian cricketer to achieve the unique feat of having played all three formats during a single tour.

Having impressed Indian selectors with his performance for the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League, T Natarajan made it into the Indian team for the tour to Australia. On Friday, Thangarasu Natarajan made his Test debut for India at the Gabba in Brisbane for the 4th Test Match against Australia. However, the 29-yr old from Salem proved his mettle having scalped the wickets of Mathew Wade (45) and Marnus Labuschagne (108). Along with him, Washington Sundar too made his Test debut. Both the players were handed the Test caps by Bharat Arun, the current bowling coach of the Indian national cricket team.

India is playing the Gabba Test with four pacers including Shardul Thakur, with R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Hanuma Vihari and Jasprit Bumrah being ruled out due to injuries. Meanwhile, Mayank Agarwal too has made a comeback to the team for the final Test.

Australia won the toss and opted to bat. On Day 1, Stumps – AUS 274-5 (87 Overs).
