According to health department officials, the state of Andhra Pradesh has registered a total number of 10,621 new corona positive cases on a single day, on Thursday.
Testing has been stepped up and the total count for a single day VRDL, Truenat, NACO and Rapid Antigent sample tests conducted on Thursday touched 61,300, out of which, 10,621 were found to be positive.
The test results data shows that the East Godavari district has topped amongst 13 districts, registering a total of 54,656 corona cases, out of which, 17,816 are active cases. The region-wise analysis shows that Kurnool and Anantapur are recording more number of cases in Rayalaseema. The two districts have also registered the second and third highest number of cases respectively.
As on Thursday, the total number of cases in Kurnool district is 41,700 with 6,995 COVID-19 active cases. Anantapur district registered a total of 37,736 cases. The number of corona active cases in the district are 5,912.
The West Godavari district has the fourth highest number of COVID cases registering 33,136 cases, out of which, 5,089 are active cases.
Visakhapatnam district registered the fifth-highest number of cases in the State as on Thursday. The total number of COVID-19 cases in the district is 33,310 with 6,482 active cases.
The total cases registered in AP are 3,93,090 and the total number of active COVID-19 positive cases in the State are 94,209.
2,95,248 patients have fully recovered and 3,633 have died due to COVID-19 as on Thursday, the health authorities said.
