All parties have taken the Greater Hyderabad elections as a prestige issue. With the schedule released, political parties have now focused on campaigning. Parties are busy preparing campaigns similar to Dubbaka. It is known that the BJP succeeded in defeating the TRS in the Dubbaka by-election. With very less time left for the campaign, efforts are being made by party leaders to go out and meet the public.
Leaders from villages brought to the city
Activists and party leaders are also entering the field for campaigning in 150 divisions in Greater Hyderabad. People from villages who have mostly settled in Hyderabad, do have voting rights here. With this, the parties believe that campaigning with the district leaders would bear fruits. For this, the village and mandal level leaders are being deployed in Greater Hyderabad. It is believed that many have already reached the city and are busy campaigning. The process will be expedited in the coming days. The leaders of the respective parties are of the opinion that people will connect to leaders belonging to their home town.
Ministers into the field
Ministers have also entered into the field bringing the village leaders to Hyderabad. They are of the opinion that the leaders who influence the voters in the villages and constituencies can get votes even in Greater Hyderabad with their good relations. It remains to be seen to what extent TRS’ plan will work for Greater following their failure in Dubbaka.
