The counting of votes for the GHMC polls has begun with the postal ballots being counted first. In 150 divisions a total of 1296 postal ballots are being counted. However, the BJP is leading exceptionally well and looks like it has succeeded in applying brakes on the speed of the ruling TRS. At present, the BJP is leading in 50 divisions and the TRS in 30 divisions, while the Congress is leading in just one division. The TRS party which was initially down managed to bounce back.
Currently, the BJP is leading in 50 divisions, TRS in 30 and MIM in 12 divisions. The police have set up heavy security at the counting centre and only those with entry passes are allowed entry. Votes in 150 divisions are being counted at a total of 30 centres, and the BJP has been pushing hard since the beginning of the counting. The complete results are expected by noon. In some places, the counting of votes for 10 divisions has begun as the counting of postal ballot votes has been completed.
