High Court quashes closure orders of Zuari Cements

The High Court has quashed the orders issued by the Pollution Control Board on April 24 to close the Zuari Cements company.

In yet another setback for the AP government in the High Court. A few days ago, the AP government issued orders to shut down the Zuari Cement Company in the Kadapa district as pollution was being released in large numbers. Immediately the orders were executed. In this regard, the  AP High Court today quashed the closure orders of Kadapa Zuari Cement Company. The AP Pollution Control Board had issued the orders seeking closure of Zuari Cements. A petition filed in the Zuari Cements High Court challenging the directions of the Pollution Control Board was heard today. The High Court clarified that the Pollution Control Board should rectify the objections by the 31st of this month and till then the Zuari Cement Company could run.

3 thousand people left in the lurch

With the closure of the Zuari Cement Company, 3,000 workers fell on the road. The industry was established in 1998 in Kadapa district. Zuari Cement Company has been the pride of the state since then producing the highest quality cement. Representatives of the Juwari Cement Company are concerned that harassment has increased since the YSRCP government came to power.
