Revathi Devalla, a YSRCP leader and Vaddera Welfare Corporation Chairman created a hungama having assaulted an employee at the Kaza toll plaza in Guntur district. The toll gate employee had placed a road barrier as the YSRCP leader tried to pass through without making payment. Infuriated by the toll gate employee’s actions, the VWC Chairman got down from her vehicle and went on a rampage by pushing the barrier aside and launched a physical assault on an employee working at the toll plaza. Other toll gate employees and the public who were passing by were shocked by the rude behaviour of the YSRCP leader.
What is this brutality?
Everyone irrespective of their positions, except those who are exempted as per SOP, are supposed to make toll payments. However, a few from the ruling party consider it as their special privilege and that they are extraordinary people who are exempted from making payments. Critics cite that the YSRCP leader and Vaddera Welfare Corporation Chairman is also one among such who feel they are highly privileged. However, the act by Revathi Devalla drew severe flak from the public.
