Recent entrants into the party from TDP are taking in-fights in YSRCP to the next level. In the latest episode, two groups from the same party came to blows on the roads of China Avutapalli in Gannavaram Assembly constituency of Krishna district. The bone of contention between the groups was said to be water being taken to agricultural fields from a local tank in the village.
The high drama turned into tension in the village when supporters of former China Avutapalli Sarpanch Vinay were pumping water to the agriculture fields from the village tank. For reasons unknown, supporters of Vallabhaneni Vamsi who switched loyalties from TDP to YSRCP objected to the same. This flared up into a major fight with the two groups hitting the highway for a show of strength. It was quite an ordeal for the police to calm down the two sides and ensure no disruption was caused to the traffic on the national highway. The drama went on until well past midnight.
As if this was not enough, YSRCP leader Yarlagadda Venkatrao landed at the Atkuru police station followed by party leader Dutta Ramachandra Rao. The duo had heated arguments with the police leading to high drama that went on until the wee hours. Agitated over the circumstances, the two leaders are adamant to take up the issue to YS Jagan’s notice.
Local YSRCP supporters claim that the leaders heading the warring factions are playing cat and mouse game with each other since Vamsi joined the party bringing new headaches to the Chief Minister. It is said that whenever the party high command delegates senior leaders to broker peace, “the warring leaders keep quiet and listen to them like schoolboys. Everything goes back to normal after the senior leaders leave,” said a local YSRCP source.
