Not only in films and politics, ‘jinx’ sentiments and emotions play an important role in people’s minds too. “In Chandrababu’s rule, there will be less rains”…this was a jinx sentiment we often heard and now there’s a new jinx sentiment brewing for Jagan’s rule.
The series of accidents happening after Visakhapatnam was named as executive capital is alarming people. The recent list of accidents that are happening at regular intervals is giving rise to a ‘jinx’ sentiment. Visakhapatnam houses many industries such as Dockyard, Eastern Naval Command, NAD, and NSTL and various Central Govt. Institutions. Vizag has a long coast and is prone to cyclones, tsunamis and earthquakes. Shifting executive capital to Visakhapatnam means all the government offices will be vulnerable to disasters.
The series of mishaps started with LG Polymers gas leak accident which took 13 lives and hospitalized hundreds. These were followed by accidents at the Pharma City in Achyutapuram, fire accident in a container in Sheela Nagar and the Hindustan Ship Yard crane incident. Even the disaster at Ramesh Hospital has made people worry about the ‘jinx’ sentiment in Jagan’s rule. People are believing that accidents are happening whenever AP Government makes a move on three capitals. They think these are all happening because of the curse of Amaravati farmers who are left without land or livelihood.
