US President Donald Trump in his second presidential debate prior to the November 3rd US Presidential polls has made a critical reference to India. He blamed India, Russia and China earlier too in the first debate which was held on September 29, saying that the three nations contribute to global pollution.
“Look at China, how filthy it is. Look at Russia. Look at India. The air is filthy. I walked out of the Paris Accord as we had to take out trillions of dollars and we were treated very unfairly. I will not sacrifice millions of jobs… thousands of companies because of the Paris Accord. It is very unfair,” Trump said while debating with his Democratic rival Joe Biden in Nashville, Tennessee.
Earlier, Donald Trump in his first debate speaking about Covid19 related data took a dig at India, Russia and China saying that the three nations do not give a straight count and that nobody knows how many people died due to the deadly pandemic.
Well, POTUS Trump’s comments assume significance at a time, when the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Defence Secretary Mark Esper are scheduled to visit New Delhi, for bilateral talks on India-US partnership.
