Raj Kapoor’s Mera Naam Joker is a classic movie that acted as a launch-pad for Rishi Kapoor’s career. After 50 years, a Telugu movie with the same name is being filmed by debutant director Surya Gopal. It is the first project of 4 am Movie Makers and ace director Maruthi launched it on Vijayadashami.
‘Surya Gopal loves cinema and I like the fact that he is using the super hit title Mera Naam Joker for his movie. I hope that Gopal will taste tremendous success with it’, said Maruthi.
Director Surya Gopal added ‘Thanks to Maruthi garu for launching our movie and I am indebted to media for being present on the occasion. I am happy to produce the movie with my friends along with directing it and we are roping pan-India cast in it’.
