Ramoji Rao is one such entrepreneur who forecasts future trends and builds sustainable businesses that generate jobs for many. His TV channels, newspaper, food business, retail, finance, film production and film city stand as best examples for meticulous planning and flawless execution of Eenadu group. As the lockdown stalled movie shootings and made exhibitors shutdown theatres, producers are in a bad shape lately. Interests are piling up on their loans and they are eagerly waiting for normalcy to be restored.
Allu Arvind made this lockdown work for him by starting an OTT platform named ‘Aha’. It streams only Telugu content and viewers liked the exclusivity. ‘Aha’ is currently streaming Telugu dubbed versions of latest movies from other languages along with web series that are generating rave reviews. Even though industry circles thought ‘Aha’ will not be successful, Arvind proved them wrong by his vision and innovative thinking. Sources say that Ramoji Rao is also starting an OTT platform. ‘ETV’ already has a repository of thousands of films which it bought on lease for a period of 99 years.
ETV is currently playing movies it has produced through Ushakiron on ‘ETV WIN’ app. The upcoming Eenadu OTT will stream movies which are with ETV since many years along with the new movies bought from filmmakers. They will also have an exclusive contract to play movies which they bought for their OTT on ETV also. Let’s see whether this new OTT gives competition to the existing giants or not.
