Mithunam is a feel-good film starring legendary singer S.P Balasubrahmanyam and senior actress Lakshmi in the lead roles. This 2012 drama film is directed by Tanikella Bharani which was based on a novel of the same name written by Sri Ramana. The plot of this film revolves around an old couple who lives alone as their children were settled abroad. They devise a blissful life for themselves full of solitude and tranquillity. This concept went well with the audiences and this film is now planned to be remade in Bollywood.
As per Bollywood sources, Amitabh Bachchan is going to play the role essayed by SPB in the original and he is already in the task of getting ready for it. Even though senior actress Rekha has reportedly roped in to play Lakshmi’s role, a section of media is speculating that Jaya Bachchan will essay it. We have to wait and see for some more time to know whether this project materializes or not.
