For the past four years
While four years ago, the drug scandal caused a sensation in the Telugu states along with Tollywood. Police have questioned several people in the case. In Hyderabad, 55 cases were reported in 2018 and 88 in 2019. These are just cases under the Hyderabad Commissionerate. Earlier in 2017, the Telangana government had appointed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the drugs case. Although the trial lasted for several years, all of a sudden, the matter fell into obscurity. Later, the drug business came out in Bollywood as well. Police found that the drugs were imported by courier from Germany, Britain and England. There is propaganda that there are MLAs from Telangana in the latest drug case in Bengaluru.
