Not sympathy, need Pawan Kalyan’s leadership!

Will the Jana Sena fight for Amaravati? Is the meeting only to console farmers? It would be beneficial if Pawan leads the Amaravati agitation when the YCP is trying to give it a caste color.

Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan made it clear that Amaravati should be retained as the sole capital of Andhra Pradesh. Having chaired a meeting at the Mangalagiri Jana Sena office, he met the farmers fighting for Amaravati and expressed his displeasure over Dalit farmers being handcuffed for taking out protests. However, farmers question that if Jana Sena takes up the agitation, can the government move an inch forward to shift the capital?

Pawan Kalyan alleged that the Atrocities Act, which was introduced to defend Dalits, was being used to handcuff them and such situation is nowhere to be seen in the country. He added that it is an example of how the ruling parties can go ahead with its anti-people policies when the opposition is weak. The same thing is happening in the AP. He said that while the opposition parties are afraid of cases, the ruling party was continuing to oppress the people further. He recalled how Jagan as leader of the opposition had supported the capital in Amaravati.

Now, when asked why Jana Sena was not taking up the agitation following the U-turn taken up by AP CM Jagan Reddy, there was no answer. Governments do not come down by simply speaking angrily and passionately in front of mikes. If needed the leaders should come onto the roads. You may even have to go to jail. Justice will never be done to the farmers of the capital of Amravati if Jana Sena sticks only to words and does not fight for their cause.

Tears of the farmers, not a good sign

Attacking the YSRCP, Jana Sena said that the tears of the farmers were not good for any government. He opined that the BJP was also supporting the capital of Amravati. He assured that Jana Sena would stand by women on the Amravati issue. Pawan clarified that the farmers have the right to demand Amravati as the capital. On the other hand, farmers have strongly criticised the YSRCP government for saying that it would return the 33,000 acres of land acquired from 29 villages.

Pawan criticized the government for digging the graves of farmers in the name of three capitals. To say that the lands would be returned to the farmers is nothing short of deception. The Jana Sena has a clear understanding of the injustice done to the farmers of the capital. But it has to be questioned whether they will fight on behalf of the farmers at least for one day.

Power is not for eating away thousands of crores

Pawan Kalyan made harsh comments on the YSRCP chief. He said that in present-day politics, leaders are simply indulging in hurling abuses against each other, instead of solving public issues. The sorrows of the farmers would become a curse for the rulers, he said adding it was bad to divide capital into three parts on the pretext of lands belonging to a particular caste.

Pawan should lead the Amaravati agitation

Yes, if Pawan leads the agitation, shifting of capital would definitely stop. But, Pawan should directly lead the fight. If all come onto the roads, the government will have to come down. But, with Jana Sena not coming forward to lead, analysts are speculating their own views. Will have to see what the Jana Sena is up to?
