Pink Diamond Case: Shocker for Vijayasai and Ramana Deekshitulu

With the Court rejecting TTD’s withdraw plea in the controversial pink diamond case, YSRCP RS MP V Vijayasai Reddy and Ramana Deekshitulu, the former chief priest of Tirumala temple need to attend the court hearing.

It is known that prior to 2019 elections in AP, YSRCP’s V Vijayasai Reddy and Ramana Deekshitulu, the then chief priest of Tirumala temple had made sensational claims, alleging Nara Chandrababu Naidu of having stolen the missing pink diamond from Lord Venkateshwara’s jewellery.  While during the TDP regime then TTD Governing Council had filed a Rs 200 crore defamation case against the duo. A case had also been registered in the Tirupati Tenth Additional District Judge’s Court seeking payment of Rs 2 crore towards stamp duty. However, post-elections the YSRCP had assumed power in the state and then the TTD had approached the court seeking withdrawal of the case. To this, a lawyer from Guntur along with the Telangana Hindu Janshakti Party filed an implead petition saying that they could not withdraw the case. As a result, the Court stated that the defamation case against the duo cannot be withdrawn.

Now, the YSRCP Rajya Sabha MP V Vijayasai Reddy and former TTD chief priest Ramana Deekshitulu have to attend the court hearing in the case. The hearing in the case is set to begin today.
