Prime Minister Narendra Modi called an urgent meet with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla and other top intelligence officials. As per reports, it is believed that the four suspected Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists who were shot dead by the Indian Armed Forces had planning a big attack on 26/11 anniversary.

On Thursday, the Indian Army acting on a tip-off intercepted a truck carrying four JeM terrorists at Nagrota in Jammu. This led to an encounter wherein two policemen were injured in the shootout, while the security personnel managed to neutralize the militants.
The terrorists were on their way to Kashmir valley when they were intercepted by the Indian security personnel.

“It’s possible that they were planning a big attack. This kind of seizure is unprecedented. It is possible that they were targeting the DDC election. However, we are investigating,” Mukesh Singh, the Jammu IG said, adding that the District Development Council elections are being held between November 28th and December 19th. The polling will be held in eight phases and the election results will be declared on December 22nd.
