The police in Vizag not only maintain law and order but also involve themselves in community service. The personnel who discovered the semi-composed body of an unidentified man instead of leaving it took the trouble of carrying it three kilometres away and have shown their human nature. The body of an unidentified man was found off the coast of Sitapalam in the Rambilli area of the Visakhapatnam district. SI Arun Kiran registered the case and informed other police stations. However, no one came claiming the corpse. The corpse began to rot and stink. As no one came forward to move the body, ASI Dora, HC Masenu, Constable Narsingh Rao and Home Guard Kondababu carried the body all the way from the shore to Sitapalam with the help of sticks. The body was found lying about three kilometres from the shore. Later the police moved the body to the mortuary in Yalamanchili. People have appreciated the humanity shown by the police and the photos of the police carrying the body went viral. AP DGP Gautam Sawang saluted the staff for their service and for keeping up the dignity of the police department.
