YSRCP rebel MP Raghurama Krishnam Raju made sensational claims against AP CMO Principal Secretary Pravin Prakash. He alleged that the top official in AP CM YS Jagan’s office is behind the CBI raids conducted on his properties, adding that Pravin Prakash’s friend in the Finance Ministry had filed the case. However, the MP made it clear that he cannot be intimidated by such threats. Addressing a presser in Delhi, the MP questioned the motive behind the searches.
The CBI searched the properties of the MP and several others across 11 locations spanning West Godavari (AP), Hyderabad and Mumbai. Allegations are that the rebel MP had siphoned off bank funds from the PNB led consortium. The bank in 2019 had declared the loan account as fraud. Following a complaint by the bank’s then CEO Sunil Mehta, an FIR has been filed by the Agency against ten people for criminal conspiracy and cheating to the tune of Rs. 826 crores.
Raghurama’s explanation
Krishnam Raju vented his anger over the CBI raids claiming that YSRCP leaders were behind the move. The Narsapuram MP revealed that he had obtained loans worth Rs. 4000 crores of which Rs. 2000 crores is still in his savings bank account. Denying the allegations as baseless, he made it clear that there were no irregularities in his business. The YSRCP MP even expressed confidence saying that he has all the proofs to show the CBI, in case an investigation is ordered.
Passive allegations against Sakshi, AP CM Jagan
Firing on the revenge politics, Raghurama Krishnam Raju made passive allegations against CM YS Jagan and Sakshi newspaper. The MP claimed that Sakshi lost its credibility for publishing that he evaded Rs. 23,000 crores taken from banks. The rebel MP claimed that within two to three months people who run the publication would go behind the bars and hence he refrained from filing cases against them. However, Jagan having met PM Modi and the PNB Bank CEO on the same day during his recent Delhi visit have led to speculations.
