Gunasekhar who is known for erecting magnanimous sets for his movies announced Hiranyakashyapa with Rana after Rudhramadevi. This project was put on hold due to the pandemic as it needs a huge amount of workforce to be on sets owing to its scale.
This made Guna move on to a mythological drama named Shakuntalam based on the eponymous work of Kalidasa. He revealed that Samantha Akkineni is playing the role of Shakuntala in the film on new year’s eve.
Ace producer Dil Raju is reportedly co-producing Shakuntalam and he is the sole reason for making Sam agree to play the titular role in it. We are sure that the inclusion of Samantha will be a welcome addition to this epic love story.
