SEC appoints IG Sanjay to monitor elections

SEC Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar has appointed senior IPS officer Sanjay to monitor and ensure the smooth conduct of the local body elections in AP.

Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar, the State Election Commissioner on Tuesday appointed IPS officer IG Sanjay to monitor the Panchayat Elections. It is known that the SEC has earlier announced that the polls would be monitored by an officer of IPS cadre. In order to ensure law and order during the elections, a strict officer like Sanjay is being appointed. Following the news of the appointment, IG Sanjay announced that he would meet SEC Nimmagadda and accept the new responsibility.

Immediate arrangements

With the Supreme Court giving a green signal to hold local body polls in Andhra Pradesh, the SEC Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar is ensuring that all arrangements are being made on an immediate basis. Police forces have already been deployed to rural areas. According to Home Department officials, the security forces are monitoring law and order situation in those rural areas where polls would be held in the first phase.
