SEC Nimmagadda cracks the whip on AP Panchayat Raj Minister

Nimmagadda Ramesh, the AP SEC has lambasted AP Panchayat Raj Minister for resorting to threatening officials and for disregard towards the Election Commission. The SEC has now directed the AP DGP to confine the Minister to his residential premises.

Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, the AP Panchayat Raj Minister has landed in trouble for his remarks against the SEC Nimmagadda Ramesh. The YSRCP Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development in a presser held on February 5th at Tirupati had criticized the SEC for having decided to put on hold the unanimous results of Chittoor and Guntur Districts following a report of an unusually high trend of unanimous elections. Reacting to this SEC Nimmagadda Ramesh has directed the AP DGP to ensure that Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy be confined to his residential premises till February 21st and that he shouldn’t be allowed to hold press conferences with the media. An official press note regarding the issue has also been released by the State Election Commissioner.

“The Collectors and Returning Officers in the State are warned not to obey the instructions of the madcap Election Commissioner. If they follow the Commissioner’s instructions (preventing forced unanimous elections), action will be taken against them and they will be blacklisted. The Commissioner will be there till March 2021 end, but our Government will continue beyond and we will take you to the task. The Returning Officers are to disregard the Commissioner’s directions and declare all unanimous elections. The Commissioner is doing these things to gain MP/MLC seat from Telugu Desam Party. The people of the State are behind us. Unanimous elections shall continue,” Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy said.
