During his heyday a decade ago, Sunil was literally in every film as a star comedian. With Rajamouli’s ‘Maryada Ramanna’, he changed his focus towards hero roles in which he failed miserably. Except ‘Maryada Ramanna’, ‘Andala Ramudu’, and ‘Poola Rangadu’ none of his films fared well at box office. Interestingly all these titles were taken from vintage films and this vintage sentiment is working again for Sunil now.
Sunil recently donned the antagonist role in Ravi Teja’s ‘Disco Raja.’ He is reprising the negative role in his upcoming film ‘Colour Photo’. The recent announcement of his film ‘Vedantam Raghavayya’ to be made under 14 Reels Plus banner by Ram Achanta and Gopi Achanta raised eyebrows as the story for this flick is penned by Harish Shankar.
Harish Shankar is taking this project seriously as he wants to continue his success streak after ‘Gaddalakonda Ganesh’. ‘Vedantam Raghavayya’ is a big name in Tollywood as he directed and choreographed milestone films like ‘Devadasu’, ‘Anarkali’, ‘Suvarna Sundari’ and ‘Aada Bratuku’. It is still to be known whether Sunil’s upcoming film is a biopic or not. We have to wait and watch whether this vintage title fetches Sunil his much needed success.
