Surender Reddy to co-produce Akhil’s movie

Many directors got into the producers shoes in Tollywood in the past. While only a few of them tasted success, the rest amassed huge debts and had to leave the industry. The current generation of directors is playing a safe game by opting for a share in the profits. Mega director SS Rajamouli started this trend. He is always paid a percentage in the profits made by his films apart from the remuneration. Now, rest of the battalion has also decided to tread on his profit-sharing path.

‘Haarika and Hassine Creations’ banner does most of its films with Trivikram Srinivas. Though his name was displayed as a producer, Trivikram is said to be a share holder and was given the majority stake in profits in all the banner’s previous films. Ace director Sukumar also started this trend from ‘Rangasthalam’ which was produced by ‘Mythri Movie Makers’ banner. He is said to have made an agreement with the production house to get a share in their future movies under his direction. While Koratala Siva is following the same procedure from his last couple of movies, Surender Reddy also joined the list now.

His previous movie with megastar ‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy’ was a Pan-Indian outing which impressed Tollywood audiences with its historical premise. Even though it failed to ring the cash registers at the national level, it garnered good reviews and collections in the two Telugu states. This jacked up Surender Reddy’s position to the next level in Tollywood. He is now given a share for his upcoming film with Akhil which is bankrolled by ‘AK Entertainments’.

Suri will debut as a co-producer with this film and founded his banner named ‘Surender2Cinema’. It was printed along with the name of ‘AK Entertainments’ on the first look poster released recently on Twitter. Surender Reddy agreed to do a film with Akhil only after he was promised a hefty share in profits along with his remuneration. Regular shooting of this big budget movie is going to commence soon and let’s hope luck shakes its hand with Akhil this time.
