Farmers in Amaravati held placards and took out protests against the AP government for having stalled pensions to Dalits in villages surrounding capital lands and over the absence of their MLA in the Winter session of Assembly. The farmers expressed their frustration on Tadikonda YSRCP MLA Undavalli Sridevi for having failed to attend the Assembly sessions. They were furious as the MLA who is supposed to convey their concerns in the Legislative Assembly, did not do so and has even gone missing.
Do not attend Assembly sessions
It seems the YSRCP Chief had instructed the Tadikonda YSRCP MLA Undavalli Sridevi from attending the Winter session, in the wake of several corruption allegations being levelled against her. Ironically, the YSRCP party leaders themselves had uploaded audio and video footages against her, causing a major embarrassment. Hence, the party might’ve ordered the Tadikonda Legislator to stay away from winter meetings, in a bid to avoid being targeted by the opposition.
Though the MLA was in Guntur, she was not seen in public and even in media. It is learnt that the MLA was asked to maintain a low profile and not be spotted by the paparazzi. However, the YSRCP high command fears that these allegations of corruption against Undavalli Sridevi may tarnish the image of the party not just in the Tadikonda constituency, but can also be detrimental for the party in the whole state.
