Telugu Desam Party senior leader Kagitha Venkatrao has passed away. He was 71. Venkata Rao, who won as an MLA from Krishna district’s Pedana, held several posts. He was treated in Machilipatnam for the last two days before he fell ill. He was later shifted to Vijayawada for better treatment. He died today of a heart attack while receiving treatment.

Kagitha Venkata Rao’s son Kagitha Krishna Prasad is active in politics. The daughter is serving in the medical field. TDP national president Chandrababu Naidu, TDP national general secretary Lokesh, and several TDP leaders expressed deep grief over Venkata Rao’s death.
