Pelli Choopulu is one of the films that changed the dynamics of a formula infested Tollywood by making it turn towards meaningful cinema. It is the debut film of young director Tharun Bhascker. Suresh Productions distributed Pelli Choopulu after forecasting its mettle. It collected Rs.30crore at the box office against a puny budget of Rs.1crore.
Suresh Babu fell in love with Tharun owing to his vision and immediately agreed to produce Ee Nagaraniki Emaindhi. Recalling the experiences of the film, Tharun revealed ‘Suresh Sir has vast experience in judging a film. When I narrated the story of ENE, he said it will not reach Pelli Choopulu for sure. He also added that ENE will garner praise from all sections of audiences after its OTT release. Everything happened as Sir said’.
Tharun further added ‘I penned a couple of scripts during the lockdown. I narrated them to Suresh Sir due to my closeness to him. He liked both of them and I will reveal more details about my upcoming projects soon’.
