Telangana Congress is facing a tough time. Nothing is going favourable for the party. The high command of the party is scratching its head following continuous defeat in the elections and leaders shifting loyalties. Initially, while the TRS dented the chances of Congress party, now the BJP has been further damaging the party with its operation Akarsh. The leaders are going to the house of those who are likely to leave the party. However, the leaders who have made up their minds are not heeding to the pleas of their leaders.
The political analysts are of the opinion that going to the people was the only way for Congress to save itself. The party has decided to fight on the issues of the people. The farmers are coming onto the roads in the country. They have taken up protests in Delhi for the last 45 days. The party wants to use this to go to the people and also against the ‘U’ turn by the state government. It has to be seen how the party would fight against the U-turn by the KCR government as the party’s national leadership is yet to formulate a protest plan.
Political analysts say that it is difficult to get consensus among the Congress leaders on any issue. Recently, there was a proposal from Malkajgiri MP Revanth Reddy to go to Delhi and protest along with the farmers. He offered to sponsor a train to Delhi. However, CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka said that going to Delhi would lead to further controversies and suggested the leaders going directly to the farmers and explaining them about the Farm Acts. With both leaders expressing different opinions on one issue in a meeting, the party leaders said that the leaders should not talk like this in public and should sort out differences in the internal meetings.
Recently, in LB Nagar, Revanth Reddy was insulted as the authorities did not follow protocol. Though he protested there was no response from the other leaders of the party. The leaders who want to bring back the past glory are feeling sad with such instances. Analysts say that controversies like these would affect the prospects of the party further. They said that the leaders should forget all their differences for some time.
