Silver screens started functioning from today finally after eight long months of inactivity. Acting on the stringent guidelines set by Central and State Governments, theatres unveiled their curtains for 50% occupancies.
Though State Govt. permitted the exhibitors to increase the ticket prices if necessary, they never did so. Several film celebrities and directors like Maruthi and Sekhar Kammula watched movies in the theatre and posted their photographs on social media handles. They expressed their elation and said that opening theatres were like welcoming life back.
Contrary to the popular belief, Jagadamba Theatre in Vizag became houseful today. It was playing the Hollywood film Tenet which collected Rs.44,132 for the morning show. This shows that Telugu audiences are craving to watch the films in theatres and let’s hope that cinema halls regain their lost glory.
