Tirupati Lok Sabha byelection: YS Jagan yet to decide MP candidate

Currently, the politics in AP is revolving around the upcoming Tirupati Lok Sabha byelection. Various political parties are ready with their potential candidates for the battle. While the TDP has already announced their candidate as Panabaka Lakshmi, the BJP is geared up to give a tough competition.

AP CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy led government has not officially announced their MP candidate for the upcoming Tirupati Lok Sabha byelection. The party has already organized several reviews till date but to no avail. Speculations among YSRCP is that Jagan might announce the name of late YSRCP MP Balli Durga Prasad Rao’s spouse or son. It is known that the Tirupati Lok Sabha by-election was necessitated due to the demise of YSRCP MP B Durga Prasad. The late YSRCP MP was diagnosed with COVID-19 and was hospitalized in Chennai. However, on 16 September 2020, he suffered cardiac arrest and was declared dead.

Review held by YS Jagan

It is known that YS Jagan always does what his mind speaks and other consultations with party members and colleagues are just for namesake. This is a well-known fact among Jagan’s circles. Hence, even ministers also hesitate while making suggestions to the YSRCP chief. Recently, a review was meet was also held in this regard at the CM’s camp office in Tadepalle. MLA Kakani Govardhan Reddy, Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy and AP Deputy CM K Narayana Swamy attended the review meeting and put forward their suggestions. It is heard, that the ministers extended their support to the CM regarding the choice of candidate.

What is Jagan’s decision?

It should be seen whether Jagan sticks to the old norm or sets a new trend. It is natural for every party to make use of the sympathy wave in such byelections and if that’s the case the ticket might go to the late YSRCP MP Balli Durga Prasad Rao’s spouse or son. Well, it should be seen as to what must be going through YS Jagan’s mind?
