Tollywood seniors’ brigade is not in a mood to slowdown any soon. Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Venkatesh and Nagarjuna are still going great guns with multiple projects up their sleeves. Films of these four stars are currently on sets and they are signing new films left, right and centre too. Even new directors are keen to work with these senior actors as they are ready to experiment with new stories to stay in competition with the young guns.
Megastar’s upcoming film ‘Acharya’ with hit director Koratala Siva has stalled due to the lockdown. The team is going to restart filming this month and planning to release the movie on April 9th of 2021. ‘Acharya’ ran into trouble after a budding filmmaker claimed the story to be his. Rumours are abuzz that Chiranjeevi was able to solve the issue with his influence. It is said that Megastar is also gearing up for a couple of other projects after he wraps up shooting for ‘Acharya’. He will immediately move on to the sets of VV Vinayak’s ‘Lucifer’ after Siva’s film. Sources say that Venky Mama’s fame Bobby is going to direct a film with megastar after ‘Lucifer’. Meher Ramesh’s project with Chiru is already confirmed and it is said to be the remake of Tamil film ‘Vedhalam’. Trivikram is also in line to do a film with him after megastar completes his commitments.
Nandamuri Balakrishna is currently working in Boyapati Srinu’s film with ‘Danger,’ ‘Monarch’ and ‘Torch Bearer’ as tentative working titles. The Balayya-Boyapati combo will soon finalize a name based on feedback. Balayya will also reprise his combination with veteran director B Gopal after Boyapati’s film. Balayya and B Gopal’s combination produced industry hits in the past like ‘Lorry Driver’, ‘Rowdy Inspector’, ‘Samarasimha Reddy’ and ‘Narasimha Naidu’. Blockbuster director Anil Ravipudi is also keen to direct a film with Nandamuri scion. He has narrated a script named ‘Rama Rao’ to Balakrishna in the past which hasn’t materialized. Anil is said to be penning a new script for Balayya now. Puri Jagannadh is also teaming with Balayya for the second time after ‘Paisa Vasool’.
‘King’ Nagarjuna is filming ‘Wild Dog’ under the direction of Ahishor Solomon. He is playing the role of an encounter specialist in this upcoming action thriller. After this, Nagarjuna is going to team up with Kalyana Krishna for ‘Bangarraju’. It is the sequel for ‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’. Nag’s Pan-Indian film ‘Brahmastra’ is also under shooting.
‘Victory’ Venkatesh is shooting for ‘Naarappa’ under the direction of Sreekanth Addala. This is the remake of Tamil film ‘Asuran’. Venky is donning the character of a village dweller in this rustic film which has two different shades. He gave a green signal for Anil Ravipudi’s ‘F3’ after ‘Naarappa’ and sources say that Venky is going to do a film with Trivikram too.
