The COVID outbreak has smashed every sector and made a huge dent to the nation’s economy. It has rendered millions jobless and made life a struggle for them. But Tollywood’s young directors and writers are using the free time during the pandemic to earn handsomely. Many of them are associating with OTT platforms to work on web series as writers and directors.
Netflix is now planning to launch a web series named ‘Love Stories’ in the format of its previous blockbuster ‘Lust Stories’. This web series consists of four stories by four different directors. It has already signed up Ajay Bhupathi and Siva Nirvana for two stories. Sources say that the OTT giant is considering the names of Venky Atluri and Venky Kudumula for the other two stories. The filmmakers will be paid handsome remunerations for this project which will have four episodes made with a good budget. News is that Netflix will rope in reputed stars to play lead roles in them.
Ajay Bhupathi recently announced his new movie ‘Mahasamudram’ with Sharwanand. Regular shoot for this film will commence soon. Siva Nirvana is busy with Nani’s ‘Tuck Jagdeesh’ currently. Venky Atluri and Venky Kudumula are also occupied with their upcoming projects. Even though directing a web series while working on a film is a herculean task, these young directors are game for it. Since it is easy to wrap up an episode faster than a movie, the younger lot is eager to work with OTT giants and earn hefty remunerations.
