The TPCC is in a pathetic situation. It is learnt that the Congress high command hasn’t learned its lessons, as it still delays the decision to appoint the PCC president.
Many Congress leaders boarded the flight to Delhi with a target of getting the post of PCC. The leaders stayed there for three-four days and waited for the blessings of the high command. It was heard that few leaders had met the leaders like Sonia and Rahul but the issue remains unsolved. The high command, as usual, told the party leaders that they would take a decision later. With this, the party leaders returned to the state.
It is learnt that the Congress high command is unhappy with the seniors who went to Delhi to get the vacant PCC post. The sources in Delhi said that the party high command did not show interest even to meet the Telangana leaders. It is said that the Congress which was strong in Telangana prior to the bifurcation has now lost its ground and Sonia, Rahul blame the Telangana leaders for the outcome.
All those senior leaders who went to Delhi for lobbying were puzzled with the questions by the high command as they were held accountable for the poor performance of the party. They were confused about what reply should be given to the high command.
The Telangana leaders lobbied for Telangana by stating that the party will not have any opposition. But, after the state was formed, Congress is not to be seen in the political picture. The high command is learnt to have told the leaders that they have failed to take the party into the people and now were lobbying for not giving the post to new leaders. It is said that the high command has made it clear they will not fill the post immediately and they cannot focus on the state now. The high command is contemplating to hand the post to an able leader even if it gets late. There is a talk going on that the leaders who boasted themselves to be the next PCC president, had returned back from Delhi empty-handed.
