Nowadays, own party MLAs turning into rebels and posing headache to the ruling Government seems to be becoming a trend. Parakala’s TRS MLA Challa Dharma Reddy’s recent comments on KCR’s Govt. regarding the harassment of contractors grabbed media attention. According to him, the situation in Warangal district is getting worse as no contractor is coming forward to take up the works due to the previous pending bills and twenty percent cuts imposed for quality purposes. He further added that, “Being an MLA, my bills are also put on an indefinite hold and I am losing hopes on them.”
Opposition has been criticizing the TRS Govt. on this issue for quite some time now, but own party leader expressing his anguish is proving to be a humiliation for TRS. Insider information says that Dharma Reddy’s comments are getting support from senior leaders quarters and this seems to be irking the TRS Govt. Dharma Reddy entered politics in 2014 and won his MLA seat on TDP ticket before joining TRS. He repeated his victory in 2018 defeating Congress candidate Konda Surekha with a thumping majority of fifty thousand votes.
