The new strain of Coronavirus has wreaked havoc across the United Kingdom causing a surge in the number of cases, leading to the death toll surpassing the 1,00,000 mark. Even in European nations like Italy, France, Germany and Spain, these many deaths weren’t recorded. With this UK has emerged as the 5th country to record more than one lakh deaths. Till date over 36.70 lakh cases have been recorded with the death rate at 2.72. It is known that the new UK virus strain has been rampant for two months, with over 40,000 cases being registered on a daily basis.
On Tuesday, the worldwide Covid19 cases surpassed 10 crore mark. In the United States alone, a total of 2.60 crore people haven diagnosed positive for the deadly virus, with 1 lakh daily cases being registered. In India, 12,689 new Covid cases have been registered to take the total tally to 1,06,89,527. In the past 24 hours, around 137 people lost their lives taking the total death toll to 1,53,724. In the same way, even, recoveries are happening on a faster note, with 1,03,59,305 people having recovered from Covid. The recovery rate in India is at 96.91. While 1,76,498 people are still being treated for the pandemic.
