COVID-19 situation seems to be accelerating the career of medium and small range heroes lately. OTT platforms have opened floodgates to various films with unique content which would have otherwise faced hassles if they went for theatrical release. This unique opportunity has compelled upcoming, young stars to wrap up their films and web series in jiffy. As big stars are still in no hurry to resume their shoots, upcoming stars like Satya Dev are using these circumstances to climb up the ladder. He is now considered a bankable star for OTT with several projects landing in his kitty.
Even senior actors like Srikanth is acting in a web series named ‘Shootout at Aleru’ produced by Chiranjeevi’s daughter Sushmitha Konidela. During these times of uncertainty when big directors are not yet ready because of looming fears of infection, aspiring young directors are completing their projects on a war footing. OTT platforms are becoming saviours for these projects, and low budgets coupled with interesting content are making these films instant successes.
As per grapevine, several web series featuring new, exciting talent will be launched on OTT platforms from September 1st. Except KGF-2, no big budget movie has resumed its shooting and our directors are unable to persuade stars to resume shooting like Prashant Neel did. Meanwhile, post-production work for films that have completed shooting is in progress.
