Power Star Pawan Kalyan returned to films after a hiatus of two years and started his second innings with Vakeel Saab. It is the remake of the Bollywood hit Pink starring Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu in the lead roles. While Dil Raju and Boney Kapoor are pumping moolah into the project, MCA fame Venu Sriram directed it.
The makers have released the teaser of Vakeel Saab on Sankranthi which went viral in no time. It crossed 10 million views on Youtube. Power Star fans enjoyed the teaser to the core which sported powerful dialogues and Pawan mark action scenes.
This hero elevation and the one-man show attracted a lot of criticism by feminists. The plot of Pink revolves around three girls who are sexually harassed by a bunch of guys and the eventual justice done to them by a lawyer played by Big B. The same film is remade in Tamil as Nerkonda Paarvai with Ajith and director H. Vinoth added some extra scenes to accommodate Thala’s super image.
The same has been done by Venu Sriram here and he created a flashback episode to showcase Pawan’s magic. So Power fans are arguing that a filmmaker has the liberty to showcase his flick as he wants and there is no need to reveal the actresses in the teaser if he thinks so.
