Have the YCP seniors and government heads planned to take away lands at the seashore in Visakha? Are planned efforts being made to take away lands right from Siripuram to Rushikonda beach? Are they taking up encroachments and transfer of lands? The former mayor of Vizag and former Anakapalle MP Sabbam Hari says so. He has alleged that this was going on as per the directions of MP Vijay Sai Reddy.
From the project which was sanctioned earlier
They have taken projects which were ten to 15 years pointing out flaws in them and those which were about to be inaugurated. A decade and a half ago, a 33-year lease of ten acres of land near Sagar Nagar in Bheemili, Visakhapatnam was given to a private company for the Karthika Vanam project on the Beach Road. The private company was contracted to build a beach resort. The project took a decade to complete. In the name of delay, Radisson, a well-known international hotel company was brought into the field. It is alleged that leaders of the ruling party have stakes in it.
Bay Park, a short distance away, is in a similar situation with 25 acres near Yendada have been allotted for tourism development. They said they would help the company come out of losses and acquire a majority stake. Even this project was approved 15 years ago. Sabbam Hari also alleged that the government is now eyeing the nearby Sai Priya Resorts. Recently, the Prema Samajam Trust was also taken over under the guise of misappropriation as valuable lands belonging to the trust are located on the beach road. With that in mind, Hari said the trust was included in the Endowment Department. He also alleged that attempts were being made to take over the Ramanaidu Studio which was sanctioned during the reign of YS Jagan’s father YS Rajasekhara Reddy. Sabbam Hari further said that the process of grabbing the lands given a few years ago to Bheemili Housing Society along the beach has also begun. The government has already taken over all of the valuable lands around the Millennium Towers.
It all began from church land
Stating that the lands at Siripuram junction were purchased in the name of a church and the entire land was purchased, to take away lands right from Rushikonda to Bheemili. Hari strongly warned politicians and ruling party leaders that if they misuse power and positions, in the near future they would face the fury of the people of Vizag.
Not leaving even Appanna lands
He also clarified that an attempt was being made to rob the temple lands having appointed Sanchaita Gajapathi Raju as the Chairman of the Simhachalam Temple Trust before sunrise having issued a GO by midnight. He said it was the responsibility of everyone to save these lands. As per his analysis, if whatever mentioned above happens the ruling party leaders will have the distinction of being the biggest land grabbers in the country.
