The state government appointed an incharge minister for every district. If there are any issues the ministers can be approached for the solution. The party leaders also depend on the incharge minister. The ruling party believes that the issues of the party and government can be solved by these incharges. However, the leaders and cadre of Vizianagaram YSRCP are unhappy with the incharge minister’s behaviour and fear that it might cause disrepute.
The leaders are of the opinion that if the endowments minister had responded on the issue immediately, the issue would have died down. But, because of his attitude, the issue became complicated. His comments against Pusapati Ashok Gajapati Raju added fuel to the fire, opined locals.
Vellampalli even attended a program of the chief minister in the district on the very next day of Ramatheertham incident but he did not bother to visit the spot and removed Ashok Gajapati Raju from the trust board of the temple and his remarks in the media have led to criticism.
Though Ashok Gajapati Raju is in TDP, he has recognition among the people as the successor of Pusapati Gajapathi’s. Even district minister Botsa Satyanarayana speaks against Gajapati Raju cautiously. The Kshatriyas are also up in arms against the comments of the minister. They are questioning who gave the right to the minister to target Ashok individually. Even the YSRCP leaders are unhappy with the comments of the incharge minister.
The YSRCP leaders are afraid that the comments of the ministers may bring new issues. They are afraid that the comments against Ashok Gajapati Raju may benefit the TDP. It has to be seen how the YSRCP seniors would assure the cadre and how they would solve the issue.
